We offer guided hunts in several locations around the United States. These hunts
include local preserve hunting in Illinois, as well as in other states. Additionally,
we have guided wild bird hunts in South Dakota, Iowa and Kansas. Our guided hunts
are booked based solely on the experience that the client wishes.
Unlike many guided hunts, when you take a Craney Hill guided hunt, we don’t shoot
– you do. The hunt is for you – not us. It is about you enjoying the hunt – not
us. It is about the experience you want – not what we want.
Hunts can be developed for local all-day hunts with lunch or multiple days with
lunch and dinner. These hunts are scheduled at hunt clubs that vary in cost based
on the quality of the service, quality of the birds and length of the hunt. Lodging
is typically up to you; although, we can also arrange it. These hunts are great
for those with limited time, those looking for a relaxing day afield, those with
limited hunting experience and those who want to entertain local clients.
Wild bird hunts require a time and travel commitment. Because the hunt is for wild
birds, the hunt is booked in South Dakota, Iowa or Kansas. Wild bird hunts are held
either at a private lodge or on public ground. The public ground hunts are more
difficult hunting and, typically, fewer birds are seen. However, these are very
rewarding hunts. This is the best test of you as a hunter and you as a dog trainer.
It pits you and your dogs against a bird that has already beaten the coyote, hawk
and other varmints that are genetically superior hunters to our domesticated dogs.
To put these birds in the bag is a badge of honor that will provide memories not
easily surpassed. If you are looking for a challenging hunt that provides outstanding
scenery, the best wild birds and memories for a lifetime, this hunt is for you.
Do not book this type of hunt if you believe the number of birds shot defines
the hunt. Book this hunt if the quality of the bird and the difficulty of the hunt
is the reward.
