“When I got my English cocker, Mitch, I hoped he would be a good house pet and playmate for my sons, and anything he could do in the field would be a bonus. But after a summer with Todd Agnew, Mitch turned into a hunting companion that exceeded my wildest dreams. He found, flushed and delivered big rooster pheasants to me in four states last year, and we can’t wait for this fall.”

Before I was introduced to Todd, I had attempted to train my 6-month old Springer (Lucky) with the help of a capable local trainer. It became readily apparent to me that this process would take too long and wouldn’t be very effective because I wasn’t willing or able to put in the time. I was referred to Todd by a friend who told me not to waste my time and money on any other trainer or training method. Lucky spent 3 months under Todd’s tutelage and came back a different dog. I spent almost every weekend during the fall and winter hunting chucker and pheasant with Lucky and he did better than I ever expected. He is now a pleasure to hunt with and we have really bonded out in the field. I’m going to try to get Lucky back out to Craney Hill for graduate school in the future.

I have had the good fortune of hunting and training dogs with Todd Agnew for the past eight years. My experience with Todd has been rewarding in every sense of the word. I have seen my dogs transition from juvenile disobedient hooligans to professional mature gun dogs under Todd's training system. I now have confidence in my dogs to produce birds and put them in the game bag no matter if I am hunting wild birds in Kansas, at my local preserve or making long retrieves from the duck blind. I would recommend Todd to anyone looking to purchase or develop a gundog. It is a relationship my entire family has enjoyed.

As the owner of a wildlife habitat restoration company, avid sportsman and dog enthusiast, I have had the fine privilege over the years to have a working relationship with Todd Agnew of Craney Hill Kennel. Having attempted to train a couple of dogs over the years I finally understand how hard it is to have a complete hunting dog as well as a companion without some professional direction. Todd takes the guess work out of the training process. For the individual who wants an overall dog to hunt with, Todd’s end product is superb. Their program takes into consideration the owner's wants and needs as well as the dog's genetic ability to get to that point. They are very customer focused and really incorporate their customers into the overall process of training their dog. I have owned several dogs that have flushed and retrieved 1000’s of birds. My dogs have risen to a new personal level for me after they were trained and finished at Craney Hill Kennel. Todd spent as much time training me as he did my dogs. His patience, persistence and dedication to our sport is second to none, you won’t find a more suitable training program for your dog. I highly recommend his training program and guided hunting opportunities that he offers.

Training with Todd has been a very positive experience for both my dog (Zoe) and myself. By establishing an extensive foundation on live birds, my dog has gained the confidence on wild birds from Illinois to South Dakota. Todd has taught me how to work with my dog in the field by utilizing the instinctive ability of the dog. We now hunt productively in the field and have received a junior hunt title by passing four consecutive AKC hunt tests. I would recommend Craney Hill Kennel to anyone who is serious about training their dog to hunt confidently and successfully.

Todd is honest, hardworking and well organized. He can read a dog and has a well thought out comprehensive system to develop a dog to its full potential. Additionally, he is a hunter who understands wind, cover and game bird behavior patterns and is dedicated to providing a pleasurable hunting experience for his clients. I recommend him as a first rate dog trainer and wild-bird hunting guide without hesitation or reservation.
